Two injured, one dead in Texas high school shooting

A 14-year-old female student at Alpine High School in west Texas shot and wounded a female classmate before turning the gun on herself last Thursday.

In the confusion, a U.S. marshal accidentally shot and wounded a homeland security officer.

According to Reuter’s, neither the homeland security officer nor the student’s injuries were reported to be life threatening. The shooter was reportedly found dead in a school bathroom with the gun nearby.

The shooter, whose identity was not shared by the police, had only moved to Alpine six months prior. Her motive for the shooting is still being investigated
